laxa (Lapeirosa laxa)
15-30cm. Cormous perennial producing spikes of orangey-red flowers with darker spots on lower petals. Early summer. Well-drained soil, in sunny position. Often self seeds. Overwinter in cold greenhouse in all but mildest areas. Will withstand occasional falls below zero.
