30 x 30-60cm. Large up-facing blue-mauve flowers in summer.

10 x 30cm. Masses of small mauve-blue thimble-flowers in summer. Thrives in crevices, screes, paving, etc. The creeping rhizomes can be a nuisance in the wrong spot! Grows happily and in a well-behaved manner in poor gritty soil in sun.

10-15cm. Lax stems bearing profuse, deep purple bell flowers in mid to late summer. Well-drained soil in sun.

120cm. Clusters of large rich purple bells in mid-summer. Fertile, moisture-retentive soil in sun or part-shade. Cut back after flowering to encourage further flowers.
