Ranunculus

20-90cm. . Double yellow flowers in summer. Humus-rich, fertile soil in sun or part shade. Not too dry.

5cm. Attractive leaves, silver-grey mottled, and suffused purple. Deep yellow, single flowers in spring. These very attractive celandines appear in late winter-early spring, and disappear after flowering. They grow well in deciduous shade, and are usually less invasive than the wild celandine!
