25 x 45cm. Evergreen. Silvery blue, fine leaves, and similar flowers in early summer, which become light brown. Poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.

1.8-2.5 x 1.2m. Perennial, forming large clumps of attractive foliage, with corymbs of deep rose-pink flowers in early summer. Moist to boggy soil in sun.

Foeniculum

180 x 45cm. Bronze fennel. Fine bronze foliage, with flat heads of tiny yellow flowers, followed by aromatic seed. Fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or part-shade. Self seeds a little. Culinary herb.

45cm. Evergreen rosettes, with spikes of deep pink flowers, darker-veined, from mid-summer to autumn. Moist but well-drained soil in sun or part-shade, not too wet in winter.
