Crocosmia

Cormous perennials, clump-forming,  and producing struky spkies of funnel-shaped flowers in late summer to autumn, which make good cut flowers.They require fertile, humus-rich soil in sun or part shade, and the clumps should be divided when they become congested.  Coming from South Africa, they are not completely hardy in colder areas, where they would be better planted near a warm wall and mulched in winter. The following have proved reasonably hardy here in Hampshire.
